How We Operate

Panda Ethanol focuses on developing highly-efficient, cost-competitive production facilities while taking advantage of market opportunities and trends. Our strategy is to:

Leverage the experience of Panda's
management team

Panda Ethanol's management team is composed of seasoned executives from Panda Energy. While at Panda Energy, they led the company in developing, financing, constructing and operating independent power generation facilities both domestically and abroad, including two of the largest gas-fired merchant power plants in the United States totaling 4,400 MW of capacity. Panda Ethanol intends to utilize their expertise by applying disciplines from the energy industry to the ethanol industry.

Develop new production capacity

To meet a growing demand for ethanol, Panda plans to develop significant production capacity over the next several years. Our company intends to build large-scale ethanolEthanol: A clean-burning, high octane, renewable fuel made from grain or other biomass sources. Ethanol can be used as an effective octane-boosting fuel additive or as a stand-alone fuel. refineries of 115 million gallons-per-year on a denatured basis or more. These facilities will operate on a continuous basis and will make use of the latest in ethanol process technologies.

Focus on cost efficiency

A large production portfolio and greater economies of scale will help Panda Ethanol be a low-cost leader within the ethanol industry. Panda's innovative plans to use biomassBiomass: Plant matter such as trees, grasses, agricultural crops or other biological material such as cattle manure. material to fuel four of its five 115 million gallon-per-year denatured ethanol plants can provide the company with a significant cost advantage as well.* It will also significantly reduce these facilities' exposure to natural gas prices, which is the second largest variable cost for an ethanol plant, and will provide the company with increased price certainty for the cost of fuel.

Explore alternative technologies

One of Panda Ethanol's top priorities is identifying and evaluating new technologies in the industry. Panda, for example, is already using biomassBiomass: Plant matter such as trees, grasses, agricultural crops or other biological material such as cattle manure. material, such as cattle manure, as a substitute energy source in place of natural gas.
