Donald J. Thorpe

Vice President, Operations

As the vice president of operations at Panda Ethanol, Don Thorpe is responsible for overseeing the company's plant operations and maintenance. Prior to his current position, and beginning in 1994, he served as general manager of Panda Energy's 180 MW Rosemary facility located in Roanoke Rapids, N.C. From 1992 to 1994, he was employed by Sithe Energies as general manager of a 79 MW combined-cycle cogeneration facility in Messina, NY. From 1971 to 1992, Mr. Thorpe held a variety of management positions for Potomac Electric Power including manager of generating maintenance where he was responsible for the utility's central maintenance service center.

Mr. Thorpe received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lowell Technological Institute. He joined Panda Energy in 1994.
